Ben BoxA doctorate in medieval Spanish and Portuguese studies provided very few job prospects for Ben Box, but a fascination for all things Latin. He turned his attention to contemporary Iberian and Latin American affairs in 1980, beginning a career as a freelance writer at that time, and became editor of the first Mexico & Central American Handbook in 1991. He also edits the South American Handbook and jointly edits the Caribbean Islands Handbook with Sarah Cameron. To seek diversion from a household immersed in Latin America, he plays village cricket in summer and cycles the lanes of Suffolk.
