Jochen HemmlebJochen Hemmleb, Mallory & Irvine Research Expedition originator and historian, is a graduate student in geology at Johann Wolfgang University, Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany. A mountaineer for seventeen years, he has summited forty-five 4,000-meter peaks in Europe and climbed in East Africa, New Zealand, Argentina, and, most recently, the Himalaya. Hemmleb's private archives on the history of mountaineering on Mount Everest's Tibetan side and on the mystery of Mallory and Irvine is one of the most comprehensive in the world. He lives in Frankfurt, Germany.
