Ahdaf Soueif

Born in Egypt, Ahdaf Soueif earned her B.A. in literature from Cairo University, her M.A. from the American University in Cairo, and her Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Lancaster, England. She later taught English and American literature at Cairo University and at the University of Riyadh. She lives in London with her husband, the writer Ian Hamilton, and their two sons.
