Rick Steves

Rick has gained notoriety as a guru of alternative European travel. Since 1980 he has led "Back Door" tours of Europe and written twelve travel guidebooks including the classic Europe Through the Back Door which started a cult of people who insist on washing their socks in sinks, even when not travelling. In addition to publishing a newsletter, Rick also hosts and co-writes a PBS television series, "Travels in Europe with Rick Steves."
