What percentage of each sale do I receive?
You receive commission on all items that a customer purchases through the GCB website during a single session. The session starts when a customer clicks on a GCB Link on your website. The session ends after 24 hours, when the customer makes a purchase, when the customer closes the browser window, or when the customer goes to a different website.
Your commission is based on a tiered structure that depends on either the number of items sold or your total sales dollar volume generated, whichever gives you a higher commission percentage for that quarter. Also, if you provide a Direct GCB Link to a GCB product page (known as a "target link"), and the customer purchases that product during that session, then you earn a 15% commission on that sale.
Target Items: You earn 15% on the sale of individually linked products listed on our website. In order to be eligible for the 15%, the item must be added to the customer's Shopping Cart directly from the product detail page they land on at globecorner.com.
Non-Target Items: Purchases will earn a commission based on the schedule below.

Why would I want more than one Affiliate ID?
Affiliate IDs are used to track customer activity and purchases made through properly formatted GCB Links on your website. Your unique Affiliate ID is embedded in the linking format of the GCB Link. When a customer clicks on your link to come to the GCB website, we record this activity, and any purchases made on the GCB site during that session. You will earn commission for these purchases associated with your Affiliate ID.
A summary of such activity and purchases is available in the View Reports section. This page will tell you which pages on your site your customers clicked on, what type of links they clicked on, and which page on the GCB site they came to.
You might use a different Affiliate ID for a different website, a different section or page of the same website, or even for different links on the same page of a website. If you use different Affiliate IDs, you will be able to track more specifically which links your customers click on, and which ones earn you more commissions.
For example, you could use the same Affiliate ID for multiple websites, and all of your earnings will be reported together. You may, however, want separate reporting for the separate websites. For this case, you can establish a second Affiliate ID, which will have its own reports section, and contact and payee information if you'd like. You can use this feature within one website, also, to track different sections of your site accordingly.
We do request that you notify us (affiliates@gcb.com) of each website domain on which you place GCB Links, as we must approve each one.
You should apply only one time, and then create additional Affiliate IDs by choosing Update Account, then Add New Affiliate ID. You can switch between your Affiliate IDs on the GCB Affiliates website by choosing Select ID in the Affiliate ID box on the left side.

How and when do I get paid?
For a Product sale to be eligible to earn a referral commission, the customer must click-through a GCB Link from your site to our site, and add a Product to his or her shopping cart during a session. All products added by the customer during this session will earn a referral commission -- regardless of whether the Affiliate had a link to the individual products ordered by the customer on their website. The customer must complete the order process during this visit for the commission to be tagged to your account. We will only pay referral fees on such orders after order, payment and shipping have occurred.
We do not pay commissions on items which can not be shipped (ie., the customer subsequently cancels the order, the item is out of print, etc). Any customer returns will be deducted from an Affiliate's future commissions. GCB does not pay referral commissions on shipping charges or sales tax.
We will compute your referral fees on a quarterly basis. Within 30 days following the end of each calendar quarter, we will send you a check for the referral fees earned in excess of $24.99. If the referral fees payable to you for any calendar quarter are less than $25.00, we will hold payment until the total amount due is at least $25 or (if earlier) until this Agreement is terminated. In calculating referral fees, we will deduct the corresponding referral fee from your next quarterly payment if a Product that generated a referral fee is returned by the customer. If there is no subsequent payment, we will send you a bill for the referral fee.

Creating Links |

What if I have a broken image? (IMG SRC)
Some GCB Links created through the Link Generator include graphics. You must download these graphics from the GCB website to the correct directory on your website.
When you create a GCB Link with the Link Generator, the code created assumes a few things:
- That you will copy the graphic into the same directory (folder) as the HTML page the graphic is on.
- That you will use the same name for the graphic that we use.
The Link Generator code for a GCB Link to the GCB home page looks like this:
The graphic "gcblogosmall.gif" is provided:
You would add this code to an html page on your website. Then you would download the graphic "gcblogosmall.gif" into the same directory as that html page, saving it as "gcblogosmall.gif". The line in the code:
<IMG SRC="gcblogosmall.gif">
refers to the graphic relative to the current directory.
You may change the name or location of the graphic, but you must make sure to also change the reference to the graphic in the GCB Link. If you would like to put the graphic in a different directory, perhaps one called "images", you would change this line to:
<IMG SRC="images/gcblogosmall.gif".
If you also changed the name of the graphic to "gcb.gif", the line would read:
<IMG SRC="images/gcb.gif"
Note that the "images" directory in this case is located in the same place as your html page with the code for the GCB Link.
You can refer to the graphic in any part of your website as long as it is located under the same domain as the html page, by using an initial"/". For example, say your domain is www.myDomain.com, and you have saved the graphic as www.myDomain.com/images/gcblogosmall.gif. You could put a GCB Link on the page www.myDomain.com/myBooks/favoriteWebsites.html, and the reference to the graphic on favoriteWebsites.html would simply be:
<IMG SRC="/images/gcblogosmall.gif">.

How do I download images from the Link Generator to my site?
Some GCB Links that you can create on the Link Generator include graphics. You must download these graphics to your website, place them in the same location as your HTML page, and name the graphic with the name used in the GCB Link HTML code. The method of downloading varies depending on operating system and web browser. In general, right-click on the image and choose the menu option "Save Picture As", "Save Image As", or "Save Image". Make sure to use the same name and extension (like .gif, .jpeg, etc.) that is used on the GCB website.

What if I have a broken link?
Your link may be broken because the page no longer exists on the GCB website. Pages on the GCB website may change or be removed without notice, so you should frequently check that the pages you link to through GCB Links are still active. A page may be removed because an item is no longer available for purchase.
A GCB Link may also be broken because of an error in the linking format used for the GCB Link. The proper linking format must be used to ensure that you will get credit for purchases made by customers who click on GCB Links on your website. The GCB Link must contain our special Gateway page for Affiliates, the name of the target page on the GCB website that you want your customers to see, and your personal unique Affiliate ID. It may also contain the link type, such as a Home Page Link, Recommended Item Link, Index Page Link, or another category that you choose. Link types help you track what kind of links work best on your website.
This is an example of a properly formatted GCB Link:
When you add a GCB Link to your website, you should test the link to make sure it works. If it does not work, check these things:
the HTML code is correct with open and close link tags (<A></A>).
the HREF is correct. The HREF always starts with "http://www.globecorner.com/gateway.php". This is followed by a question mark, "?", and 3 sets of name and value pairs: "id=", followed by your unique Affiliate ID, like "id=sampleid-01"; "path=" followed by the target page relative to http://www.globecorner.com, like "path=welcome.html"; and "type=" followed by the link type, like "type=h" for a Home Page Link. The name-value pairs must have "&" in between them, and there must not be any spaces. The "type" is optional. You could add any value for type, although only the first 20 characters will be saved.
the complete HREF value, including the part after the ‘?’, is surrounded by double quotes (“”) and does not contain any spaces in it.
the target path exists under http://www.globecorner.com. The target path in the above example is "welcome.html", so you would check in a Browser that http://www.globecorner.com/welcome.html exists.
Use the Link Generator to ensure that you are using the correct linking format for your GCB Links.

What is the difference between the Index Page links and the Browse Lists in Link Generator?
Index Page links allow you to specify a geographic destination or a product type, and give your customers a link directly to that index page on the GCB website. You might use an Index Page link to direct your customers to the GCB Ireland index page. Browse Lists allow your customers to choose any destination or product type that they like, and then go to that GCB Index page. You might use a Browse List link to give your customers access to the entire GCB website, and allow them to choose where they want to go.
