He directed Boston's community development and housing effort under Mayors Kevin White and Raymond Flynn, and for thirteen years was President of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, the nation's largest private non-profit devoted to community development. He now serves as Harvard University's Vice President for Government, Community and Public Affairs.

Tony Proscio is a former associate editor of the Miami Herald and a consultant to foundations and non-profit organizations on urban affairs and economic development. He has served as a senior official on urban issues for both New York City and the state of New York.
