Colonel William Light planned the capital of South Australia in 1836 in two sections, each surrounded by a permanent common or greenbelt, with rectangular farm tracts beyond. John Arrowsmith produced this map to accompany the 1841 House of Commons Report from the Select ommittee on South Australia.
