Go to San Antonio

San Antonio Texas 1767

From the Historic Urban Plans (rolled) series.

The first detailed plan to show the capital of Spanish Texas was this colored manuscript survey prepared by Lt. Joseph de Urrutia. The church separated the military and civic plazas where most of the town's buildings could be found. On either side one can see the irrigated farm fields along the west bank of the San Antonio River. Listed below is a similar survey by Urrutia of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The originals of both are in The British Library.
